This week, I’m making cards with embossing technique. Be warned, I have a lot of photos here. I don’t have much embossing folders but I was able to borrow some from my crafting buddy Chekai. See the light blue background with numbers? I kept it as the main focal point for the card. It’s from an embossing folder from Cuttlebug.
CAS-ual Fridays challenge for the week is to use embossing: heated, dry or otherwise. The Hello stamp comes from my very first stamp set bought sometime back. Good that I was able to use it here at last. I love the pop of color from the button that I diecut from ‘My Favorite Things’ button dies and B&W twine.
I did another embossed version in a mini squared card. This time I used Retro Sketches challenge # 28. I love their clean, clear sketch challenges too. This card is more of an autumn color. The embossed background is again from Cuttlebug embossing folder. Also, I used a thick vellum to impressed the circles from Papertreyink Sunshine impression plate. The detail maybe a little difficult to see in the photo but the vellum has a touch of texture too. I love how you can create texture and dimension even into a small card.
Another card with selective embossed detail is seen here. This time using floral embossing folder from Cuttlebug. The selective embossing gives more character to very plain Kraft cardstock isn’t it?
