Watercolor stamping plus embossing

This ‘Hello’ card uses the watercolor stamping plus embossing technique shown in this week’s Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge # 109.

I used a flower stamp that I bought back home sometime ago, can’t even remember when 🙂

I stamped the flower using Papertrey Ink aqua Mist and Rasperberry fizz refill inks. Apparently I applied a small amount of the ink to have a subtle effect  in the background.

I then embossed the same stamp over the watercolored image, a little off the actual watercoloring. I diecut the pink cardstock using PTI die and added Hello chipboard letters from Amy Tangerine. Also embossed the card base with Swiss dots embossing folder.

Finished this card off with twine.

So the final output.

Sketch challenge

This doesn’t happen often, two posts in a day? Seriously? 🙂 Maybe I’m just making up with the time I wasn’t able to update my blog.

My second project for today, a sketch challenge. I can’t remember when was the last time I played along Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  So now that I have some time to sit in my crafting table, I took the opportunity to create one for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge # 79.

I used a grocery cart die from Paper Smooches. I won the die from Paper Smooches and this is now the time to make use of it.

Some of the materials I used: washi tapes, My Mind’s Eye embellishment and scallop stickers, and of course the die from PS.

Embroidered Love Birds

It’s been a while that I haven’t done any sewing for the last several weeks mainly because of the very busy schedule at work. I suddenly missed it, so yesterday when I had the chance to sit around after working on my chores, I sit and did this needlework embroidery from The Stamping Shack.

The first time I saw this image called Love Birds from the Orange Bird Studios collection, I’m already smitten. The outline image is just perfect for an embroidered project. It reminds me of the doodle stitching.

So now, I’m sharing the end product of my work yesterday.  I put the embroidered image in a frame 4×6″ frame from Ikea. By the way, Ikea Qatar has just opened about two weeks ago and that makes me so happy 🙂 I love them!

You can visit The Stamping Shack blog to see more of this project.

I’m entering this project at Moxie Fab World’s Handmade Home Decor Week: The Spring Home Decor Challenge. Though the digistamp works on paper, I used a different medium on this one.

And so, what do you think?

Birthday card for Dad

March is the birthday month for my dearest Dad. And today’s card is just perfect for him don’t you think? I used the digi image Vintage Chevy from Delicious Doodles. This is an entry at The Crafting Cafe blog’s March challenge to use Your Favorite Colour.  There’s still time to play along til end of the month so you can still join in.

For the image, I colored the chevy with Promarkers, used random papers for the background and added two strips of vellum with scored lines for some texture. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the word ‘dad’ from my sticker stash.

I’m entering this card at Simon Says Stamp, Anything goes challenge.

Also entering this card in Charisma Cardz Challenges # 12, Happy Birthday.

Easter Blessings

Wheww! Looking at my last blog post, seems that life has kept me too busy ehh. There are two major events happening this month at work and crafting is taking a back seat til I conclude these two events. Though at most times, I need to stay longer at work than usual and feels so dead tired when I reach home, I still feel so blessed and fortunate to have this work of mine.

So my card speaks about this blessings too, Easter Blessings.

Today starts another card challenge at The Stamping Shack with the theme ‘Easter’.  You can play along with the challenge from 15th March til the 31st so come and visit The Stamping Shack blog for details. I used TSS digi Hoppy Easter  and colored her with Promarkers. I randomly placed strips of paper combi in a cardstock then diecut them with a label shaped die from Papertrey Ink. My sentiment is also from Papertrey.

Im entering this card to 4 Crafty Chicks Clean & Simple challenge, 4CCC-133.

Thanks Mom

Today starts a new card challenge at The Stamping Shack blog. The theme this time is one that’s very dear to everyone’s heart, our Mom. The challenge, ‘A card for Mum’.

I used The Stamping Shack digi image on my main image, colored the  little girl and her cart with Promarkers.

For the background, I used stamping on textured background. I first impressed the circle designs using Papertrey Ink Circle Impression plate, then stamped it with Hero Arts wood grain background stamp.

The two type of sentiments come from my stash. Added a diecut buttons, some patterned papers, washi tapes and  I’m good to go.

I’m entering this card in Retrosketches challenge # 52 by using sketch Sketch # 43 to create my card.

Also in Simon Says stamp, Anything goes challenge.

And so for my number one fan and wonderful mother, Thanks Mom.
