Simple Coloring with Inktense Pencils

Hello!

I recently purchased some new stamps online and finally had the chance to use this Trouble in a Tutu stamp set from Clearly Besotted 🙂 They’re so cute right? The  set has coordinating dies but I was not able to buy those yet but will definitely get them in my next haul.

I colored the images with Inktense pencils, using only pink and black. I used a very light stroke in coloring the areas that are supposed to be dark and let the highlights be in white. This card makes me smile really.

For my sentiment I white embossed them and added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for some more fun.

I used a card sketch inspiration from CAS(E) this Sketch #187.

I also used a die from Mama Elephant to emboss the borders of the card base to add details. Just enough to put some texture on a plain card base.

Masking and watercolor

Happy Sunday!

I did some more watercoloring this time using My Favorite Things stamps. I cut a rectangular piece of watercolor paper and did some stamping using the fence then masked it to stamped the wooden base. I then stamped the pot of flowers then watercolor them all.

I had a gnome that I already colored in the past and used it this time to complete my little garden scene.

I then added some flower gems from Hero Arts and a purple washi for my side banner.

My card sketch inspiration is from My Favorite Things, Wednesday Sketch Challenge #295.

One layer card stamping

Happy Saturday!

A super quick stamping with only clear shimmer from Wink of Stella Glitter pen and Pretty Pink Posh sequins in today’s card.

I have this hot air balloon with hearts on it that I won sometime ago. I used this stamps in a kid’s card drive before and I think it just gives a warm-thought-feel to someone you’ll be giving this card to from across the miles.

I did two more stamping here using Hero Arts ombre inks, and this one color stamp too.

Colored Pencils

Today I got these Staedtler colored pencils sharpened in preparation for some coloring. I bought some stamps recently and would be good if I used these pencils again for some practice.

I used this medium in the past but haven’t really explored how well they can be used in different papers like Kraft cardstock. I saw some cards with colored images using colored pencils and they looked amazing. I should see for myself how it goes and will share here when I’m done.

Here are my new crisped tips ready for use

FullSizeRender (1)

I have a set of 24 which I think is enough to begin with the exploration.

I remember when I started card making, I used colored pencils and watercolor pencils to color digital images. That worked for me at the time but as I later get hold of other coloring materials like alcohol based markers, watercolor and lately distress ink pads, I seldom use these pencils as much as before which is a shame. I used to love them a lot and I want to use my supplies more rather than stowing them away. Good plan right? 🙂

Until then and I’ll share some of the colored stuff soon 🙂

Craft Haul

I don’t have a card creation today but am sharing a craft haul that I recently purchased online.

Simon Says Stamp offered a 25% discount last month for Ranger products and that’s that the best chance for me to take more of the mini distress ink pads. I only have a few and if I say few, I can easily count them on the two hands 🙂 I used the ones I already owned in this Christmas Card and I love how they blend well for backgrounds.

So here’s what I got from Simon Says Stamp. You can click on the photos for a bigger view

Well I said the Ranger products were on Sale but I added two stamp sets in my order which I’m drooling about since I saw them. First is the cute BB Hog Heaven from My Favorite Things. How cute are those hogs? Color them with light pink and make a simple scene using the fence and flowers and it will look great 🙂  They are one of the cutest hog illustrations by far that I see in card making.

Another sweetie patootie is Clearly Besotted’s Trouble in a Tutu. It will be very cute for a girl’s card. I saw several card samples using them and it just makes me smile. Looks so fun 🙂

Both stamp sets comes with a coordinating dies but I’ll get them later when the next budget permits.

For my next haul, I got them this time from Butterfly Reflections Ink. Its my first time ordering from Vanessa and I’m so glad I did as it ships very fast.

A quick look on what I got. I order mini stamp sets from Altenew and one from Hero Arts.

I also ordered a stamp set from Wplus 9 called Get Well Gang and its coordinating die. I don’t have a get well stamp set and this will be a perfect set for that. I can also use them in non-get well card, say Missing you card and the top 2 images for Thinking of you card.

The fishes are from Avery Elle That Bites stamp set and coordinating die too. I saw some inspirational coloring using these stamps and all of them were so beautiful in every way.

I also got a small bottle of glitter embossing from Wow as I plan to do my Christmas cards with glitter. A little sparkle would be great right?

I do craft hauls once in a while and its great to get hold of such great products to play with. There are a lot of new products that were release these past weeks and again I wish I could have them all. However, I do keep a budget when buying supplies online and at often times I will let some time past before I buy. That will give me some thinking if that is something that I really need?

How about you fellow crafters, how do you plan or budget your crafting hobby? Let me know your thoughts.

Until then!

Shine Bright

Hiya!

Just checking in quickly to share my take in Cupcake Inspirations Challenge # 371, Shine Bright.

I used a diamond diecut from Ellen Hutson to represent the bright theme. I also used a perfume packaging that has this cool shiny finish to diecut the diamond. I think that both reflects the theme eh? I also added a vellum behind the diecut to show some see-through feel in its sparkle 🙂

For my cupcake I colored it using watercolor. Then I added a striped vellum on the sides and some sequins for some more shine & brightness.

My card sketch inspiration is from CAS on Sunday: Challenge # 89.

More watercolor play

Hiya!

So glad that I had some time playing along in card challenges. I haven’t bought crafting supplies like newly released stamps and dies so I used whatever I have on hand.

For my background, I did some watercoloring using distress ink pads. I then white embossed the skyline stamp from Altenew and stamp another sentiment at the bottom from Mama Elephant. The little girl is also from the same stamp set. I colored her with prormarkers too, one of my favorite coloring medium.

I added a printed stripe vellum on the side also with few sequins.

I want to depict a scene of missing someone so I used the skyline to show a place and someone thinking about it 🙂 Cheesy right?

Anyhow, I used a card sketch from Sketch Saturday  # 425.

Icy die cuts

Hello there!

It’s only August but I’m starting to do a bit of holiday cards in preparation for the Christmas season. That’s months ahead but you know how fast time goes and before you know it, Christmas is already there and its time to send the holiday cards to your loved ones overseas.

OK so for my card today, I used the leaves die cut from Simon Says Stamp. I was going through my paper stash and found this foil like carton, shining in icy blue, would you believe it’s from a perfume bottle-Davidoff Cool Water for Woman.

Sometimes there are materials that we might just ignore but with a little imagination, we can use them in a project like this card where I used them as some form or frosty/icy leaves.

I also added a die cut ribbon using Mama Elephant dainty bow die and the oval die from Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I used a card sketch inspiration from CAS Colours & Sketch, Sketch Challenge # 186.

Happy Birthday

I found this card sketch at Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, Sip and Share.  And knowing me being a coffee drinker and card sketch lover must case the sketch.

I have this polka dot printed vellum and washi tapes on my stash so why not make use of them this time.

My stamp is from Simon Says Stamp while the sentiment is from Paper Smooches. I colored the goat with promarkers and die cut the same with its coordinating die. For the strings, I added an embroidery thread behind the goat, great to add texture, also some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Watercolor

Happy Friday!

I have been playing with simple watercoloring for this stamped imaged from Some Odd Girl.

I have a very small collection of distress ink pads and I used them to do the watercoloring. I’m excited though to get more of those inks soon in the mail 🙂 There was a recent sale online and got the chance to grab additional ink pads for coloring.

For this card, I used the card sketch from Sketch N Scrap Sketch # 79.

For my background, I embossed the lighter cardstock  with circle design, it also mimics the pattern in the washi tape I used in the strip which was coincidental. Love that when it happens.

I also stamped a tiny part of the kraft card base with doily design, very small part shows in the left but the design almost looks like the same as the flower pattern in the washi tape.
