Guitarist Tia Digi Stamp

Hiya!

Just stopping quickly to share a card I made yesterday using a sketch from Just Add Ink # 355.Β I love working on card sketch and so glad I did one this time again.

A quick look at the sketch

I used a digi stamp from Some Odd Girl. Love this one called Guitarist Tia.

I’m also entering this card to Dragonfly Dreams, Anything Goes Challenge.

Let’s be merry

Hiya!

So trying to get into swing of things around the blog. This time trying to take a sketch challenge from Match the Sketch, No. 155.

I’ve been loving the washi tape on my christmas cards this year and still loving it. Apparently in today’s card is not an exception. I added a strip of washi and embossed the background for some added texture.

My main image is colored with promarkers and die cut the same. Though this card’s color is not really traditional holiday color, still love this one πŸ™‚

Colored Pencils

Today I got these Staedtler colored pencils sharpened in preparation for some coloring. I bought some stamps recently and would be good if I used these pencils again for some practice.

I used this medium in the past but haven’t really explored how well they can be used in different papers like Kraft cardstock. I saw some cards with colored images using colored pencils and they looked amazing. I should see for myself how it goes and will share here when I’m done.

Here are my new crisped tips ready for use

FullSizeRender (1)

I have a set of 24 which I think is enough to begin with the exploration.

I remember when I started card making, I used colored pencils and watercolor pencils to color digital images. That worked for me at the time but as I later get hold of other coloring materials like alcohol based markers, watercolor and lately distress ink pads, I seldom use these pencils as much as before which is a shame. I used to love them a lot and I want to use my supplies more rather than stowing them away. Good plan right? πŸ™‚

Until then and I’ll share some of the colored stuff soon πŸ™‚

Craft Haul

I don’t have a card creation today but am sharing a craft haul that I recently purchased online.

Simon Says Stamp offered a 25% discount last month for Ranger products and that’s that the best chance for me to take more of the mini distress ink pads. I only have a few and if I say few, I can easily count them on the two hands πŸ™‚ I used the ones I already owned in this Christmas Card and I love how they blend well for backgrounds.

So here’s what I got from Simon Says Stamp. You can click on the photos for a bigger view

Well I said the Ranger products were on Sale but I added two stamp sets in my order which I’m drooling about since I saw them. First is the cute BB Hog Heaven from My Favorite Things.Β How cute are those hogs? Color them with light pink and make a simple scene using the fence and flowers and it will look great πŸ™‚ Β They are one of the cutest hog illustrations by far that I see in card making.

Another sweetie patootie is Clearly Besotted’s Trouble in a Tutu. It will be very cute for a girl’s card. I saw several card samples using them and it just makes me smile. Looks so fun πŸ™‚

Both stamp sets comes with a coordinating dies but I’ll get them later when the next budget permits.

For my next haul, I got them this time from Butterfly Reflections Ink. Its my first time ordering from Vanessa and I’m so glad I did as it ships very fast.

A quick look on what I got. I order mini stamp sets from Altenew and one from Hero Arts.

I also ordered a stamp set from Wplus 9 called Get Well Gang and its coordinating die. I don’t have a get well stamp set and this will be a perfect set for that. I can also use them in non-get well card, say Missing you card and the top 2 images for Thinking of you card.

The fishes are from Avery Elle That Bites stamp set and coordinating die too. I saw some inspirational coloring using these stamps and all of them were so beautiful in every way.

I also got a small bottle of glitter embossing from Wow as I plan to do my Christmas cards with glitter. A little sparkle would be great right?

I do craft hauls once in a while and its great to get hold of such great products to play with. There are a lot of new products that were release these past weeks and again I wish I could have them all. However, I do keep a budget when buying supplies online and at often times I will let some time past before I buy. That will give me some thinking if that is something that I really need?

How about you fellow crafters, how do you plan or budget your crafting hobby? Let me know your thoughts.

Until then!

Missing in Action

Hello!

Wow! Its been forever since I last posted a project or an update on what’s happening on the blog. This is the longest time I’ve been out of the blogosphere Β and I also felt sorry leaving a big gap posting my card projects.

Lately, my focus is more at work and the times I have to create during weekends is taken by personal errands etc. Its seems that taking that much time off creating somehow leaves you more used to not doing any creative thing like card making. My mojo seems to be missing a lot. To add to that, I was on vacation around end of April and mid-May and the focus were more into the vacation itself.

Looking back at the past activities I had on the blog, I miss documenting my works. I wanted to continue creating but I need to re-start somewhere right? and this should be it πŸ™‚

For those of you who have been following this blog, is there anything in particular that you wanted me to try, do or see? Will that be more cards, craft projects or what else? I’ll be happy to look into that.

Now time to plan the next moves. Thanks for hanging around.

Sweet thanks

Hello there!

Just stopping by to share a card using a sketch from Reverse Confetti, April Sketch challenge.

I die cut the donuts using the Donut You Know Confetti CutsΒ and sentiment from Donut You Know.

I always love using card sketch as it gives me a base on how to create the card, its fun to play with too, wondering how you will be able to do your take on the sketch.

I added hearts instead of the circles, just to add some extra fun

Hello there!

After several weeks in hiatus, I finally had the chance to play with my craft supplies to create some love themed cards. It’s a very busy time at work and I need to keep some crafty time at the back seat for sometime. Anyhow, it feels good to be productive again in my craft time. Miss this!

So, its valentine’s day tomorrow so Happy Valentine to you all πŸ™‚

I made this clean and simple Valentine card with minimum supplies.

I used the hearts banner stamp from Sarah Hurley. And the cutesy turtle from Paper Smooches Party Posse stamp set.

I’m joining in CASology: Week 184, Valentine challenge.

Watercolored ornaments

Happy Saturday!

Today is a soft watercoloring to color these lovely Christmas ornaments. I used stamps from Sarah Hurley special edition stamp set by Jaine Drake.

I used the sentiment in the Robins set, while the ornaments are from theΒ Traditional Christmas Ornaments.

I started with soft coloring then adding more colors after drying each of the watercolor layer. Love the soft effect it makes. I added some sequins for more spark.
