The Hop to Stop

Popping in to share this card I did for The Damsel of Distressed, The Hop to Stop. The card creation is using purple, the color of National Domestic Violence Awareness month.

A great support from amazing manufacturers in the crafting industry is also taking part in the awareness.

In my card, I used the stamps from Mommy Lhey Designs Time of the Month stamps¬†and colored them with promarkers. It’s a teeny tiny stamp but had fun coloring and fussy cutting them ūüôā

Holiday card with non-holiday stamp set

Hello everyone!

So excited to share a Christmas card today using non-holiday stamp set ūüôā A great way to stretch your stamps isn’t it?

I used the fox from the Small Things stamps set, not a Christmas theme set but rather a general hello, everyday kind of stamp set. I  used traditional red and green inks to show the Christmas colors and also added some buttons and leaves to represent a Christmas holly.

I also added a Clear Wink of Stella glitter pen to the fox for some shine.

For the background, I created my own by stamping the circle with white ink, it looks like snow using the white ink pad ūüôā

I also add texture in the green tag paper by stamping the Woodgrain background stamp.

xoxo Buttons

Hi Friday!

Today is the 5th of the month and this means a new challenge is now up at the Sarah Hurley 365 blog. This month’s challenge – Buttons!

Who wouldn’t love buttons? These are the first supplies I bought when I was starting out creating cards. I may not have tons of them but I love seeing and collecting some for my ¬†fancy. I do use a couple of them in projects and still have a lot waiting to be used.

For the take on the challenge, I use the buttons from Sarah Hurley’s A Few of my Favorite Things Tropical Favourites kit. The letter stamps are from Sarah‘s Block Alpha stamp set.

I did a combination of shapes and fish tail cut banners from Sarah’s kit and Snip N Cut sheet included in the Documented365 kit. ¬†The triangles are from another Documented365 kit.

3 cards from 1 digi kit: Artistic Circles

A fun card today, three card projects using one digi kit that I got from a2z Scrapbooking called Artistic Circle by Hero Arts.

I love working with digital kits as I can resize the images as I want and print them directly from my computer.

For my cards, I wanted to highlight the circles as my main focal point so here you can see each one of them closely. Only minimal embellishment and bright coloring for the circles. I think one can easily make a background pattern paper using these circles, you can fill the background piece with circles and color them with markers or colored pencils.

So which of these would you like?

You always keep me grounded

Sharing a card project today using Art Impressions stamp called Coffee BFFs, my second stamp from AI that I bought online. I have my first stamp from them called Picture Perfect and created a card previously here.

I love their fun illustrations, their stamps are great for coloring, a way to use markers or any other coloring medium. I tested my coloring skill again this time using promarker. I think I need a lot of practicing but slowly getting there? I did a quick coloring, no complicated blending to get color gradations. Just having pure coloring fun.

I’m entering this card in Art Impressions Challenge # 139, Use a Doily¬†challenge.

I used a doily behind the main colored frame.

7-2 Challenge Banner UAD

And used Saturday Sketch, Week 317 challenge.

I think it’s a great card for a best friend or someone who’s just been great in keeping us¬†humble in life whatever we may have.

Just meow-zing

Today, I got the chance to use the Clever Kittys stamps from Some Odd Girl. There are a lot of pretty character stamps from SOG but I only have this kitty stamp to try out now. I stamped the image into a pattern paper then fussy cut both the cat and the mouse. I also added some buttons and enamel dot.

I used the card sketch from Retrosketches # 117.

Felt crown for the little boys

I did this handmade felt crown for the little boys. It’s been pending for a while but so glad I¬†finally made it. I have a girl version of this that I also did here¬†for KC.

I used die cut stars and circles of felt as embellishments plus the glitzy buttons¬†to add a feel of¬†royalty ūüôā I also added my favorite ribbons and colored pompom ribbon.

Card sketch #14 by Lisa is now up at the Sketch N Scrap blog.

I seldom do a masculine card so this one I think will be¬†one of my favorite card creation ūüôā I just find this guy stamp from Paper Smooches¬†so cute. I did a combination of paper piecing and coloring using promarkers.

For the papers, I use a¬†paper combo from Sarah Hurley, Lawn Fawn, Echo Park, all from my stash.¬†I added some washi tape and did partial embossing as well in the sides and¬†the sentiment, some ribbon and buttons and I’m done.

Do check the rest of the card  inspirations from Sketch N Scrap blog and enjoy.

Happy Day

Happy Monday!

It’s my first share of¬†project for¬†Pretty Paper Studio¬†ūüôā¬†The project comes as my take¬† in this month’s challenge with the theme Glitter.

I had fun working on the colors and papers on this card. I used¬†elements mostly from My Mind’s Eye¬†¬†and papers from Amy Tangerine.¬†One good thing of working in paper packs is that all of them works together when combined. I always love the color blue and cameras so this background papers is just perfect for me.

I did a random mix of shapes and textures, buttons, die cuts and a heart for visual interest. Then I used the pink glitter to add some additional sparkle to a¬†happy day. See the additional strip of sentiment? It came from the small strip of paper the comes along in the perforation line¬†of the¬†paper. Even those small decorative piece counts¬†ūüôā

blog elements

For my stamped sentiment, I did some hand stitching  to add some interest to a plain stamped shape.

ADU challenge # 2

It’s the 15th of the month and now begins the 2nd¬†card challenge at All Dressed Up blog. The theme this time is Halloween.

I used two digi images from ADU, first is the cutesy Magical Day and the other one, All Dressed Up for Mummy.

Both images were colored with promarkers. I added some washi strips for my fairy card plus some strip of gray patterned paper at the base.

For the second card, I used the spider web stamp from Sarah Hurley’s Malcolm Strange stamp set for my background. Then added some buttons.

I also embossed the background dots in  green strip for my mummy.

I had so much fun doing projects using All Dressed Up digis and my Guest Designer stint for October has been so awesome. Thanks so much for All Dressed Up team.

All the best to you ūüôā
