Die cutting and Embossing

Just checking in quickly to share my take in this week’s (CAS)E this Sketch #189.

I used a word die cut ‘Hugs’ from Simon Says Stamp and I embossed the yellow card base with this medallion design embossing folder. Its so easy and I finish the card while I’m on the phone with a friend. Multi- tasking you know 🙂

Coloring with alcohol markers

Today’s project uses this cute fairy stamps from The Greeting Farm. I recently received this set from my haul and need to color them quickly to make it to The Cupcake Inspirations Challenge # 373. I find the colors in the photo image perfect for these fairies to use, soft yet some darker reds underneath.

I used my promarker and copic markers to color the images. These are alcohol based markers that are great to blend. I have a limited markers of this type but they serve me well in coloring small images like these stamps.

The fairies have coordinating dies but I don’t have them so I fussy cut them including the mushrooms 🙂 need to do what I need to do to make them look good when I put dimensional tape to pop them up.

I used a card sketch inspiration from (CAS)E this sketch # 188. I used some fabric ribbons in the sides and also used my new wonky rectangular diecut to the white panel.  Love how the texture stitch add interest in a plain paper.

Simple Coloring with Inktense Pencils

I recently purchased some new stamps online and finally had the chance to use this Trouble in a Tutu stamp set from Clearly Besotted 🙂 They’re so cute right? The  set has coordinating dies but I was not able to buy those yet but will definitely get them in my next haul.

I colored the images with Inktense pencils, using only pink and black. I used a very light stroke in coloring the areas that are supposed to be dark and let the highlights be in white. This card makes me smile really.

For my sentiment I white embossed them and added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for some more fun.

I used a card sketch inspiration from CAS(E) this Sketch #187.

I also used a die from Mama Elephant to emboss the borders of the card base to add details. Just enough to put some texture on a plain card base.

Get well

A quick post for today after the Christmas rush, I had the chance to craft today and play with Paper Smooches, Anything Goes, Dec 21-27 (wk 3) challenge.

I die cut the Get Well phrase and two of the Arrows. I popped them by cutting a cardboard and another card stock to raise the die cut pieces in the card. I also stamped three hearts from the Bitty Bungalow stamp set.

The card layout is inspired from CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #104.

Make a wish

Playing this time with Sarah Hurley A Few of my Favorite Things April- Happy kit. My inspiration is CAS(E) this Sketch # 81 challenge and Fusion Card Challenge. Both challenges are teaming up this week and I’m glad that I got the chance to play along with two of my favorite card sketch challenge blogs at the same time.

I used the main image butterfly as my focal point and gold embossed it twice in vellum. The butterfly stamp and sentiment is also from Sarah Hurley.

I then fuzzy cut them and placed on top of each other for dimension. I added some flat gold sequins that I bought some weeks ago in the local store.
