Stitching & Stamping

It’s been a while that I had the chance to play along CAS(E) this sketch and CAS-ual Fridays challenges but now is a chance ūüôā

I’m entering this card to CAS(E) this Sketch¬†# 49 combined with elements and inspirations challenge from CAS-ual Fridays challenge CFC 117, In Stitches. CFC¬†requires the use real or faux stitching on the¬†CAS project.

So here’s my take.¬†I used a combination of¬†elements and stamps from Sarah¬†Hurley.

The¬†mini tabs are from¬†Sarah’s February kit club Add on 1,¬†then I stamped the messages¬†using the Block Alpha stamps and Sentiments stamps.

For the stitching part, I used embroidery floss following the dots¬†in the Sarah’s Stamp & Stitch! Expedition stamps.

Had fun combining stitching in stamping in this project.

I’m also entering this card to Simon Says Stamp challenge, to Use a rubber or a clear stamp.

Watercolor stamping plus embossing

This ‘Hello’ card uses the watercolor stamping plus embossing technique shown in this week’s Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge # 109.

I used a flower stamp that I bought back home sometime ago, can’t even remember when ūüôā

I stamped the flower using Papertrey Ink aqua Mist and Rasperberry fizz refill inks. Apparently I applied a small amount of the ink to have a subtle effect  in the background.

I then embossed the same stamp over the watercolored image, a little off the actual watercoloring. I diecut the pink cardstock using PTI die and added Hello chipboard letters from Amy Tangerine. Also embossed the card base with Swiss dots embossing folder.

Finished this card off with twine.

So the final output.

True Love

Can you believe that the first month of 2013 has ended so quickly?

It’s the first day of the month and it means a new Challenge at The Stamping Shack blog. It’s February¬† and as we all know, it is a love month and this week’s theme falls perfectly¬† in the celebration of the coming¬† Valentine’s day. The challenge theme for this week is called Love Is In The Air. So play along with us and share your creations at the Stamping Shack blog.

To jump-start, I created a card using a digistamp from the Stamping Shack called True Love. You can purchase the digistamp at the Stamping Shack store.

For this landscape card, I embossed the bottom part, added a patterned paper and thin strip of washi tape. For my True Love digistamp, I colored them with watercolor pencils then cut them along the lines. I used Papertrey Ink die cut for the grey background to nestle my digi pair.  A simple I love you sentiment banner finishes this CAS card.

I’m entering this card in Clean and Simple Stamping ¬†sketch # 224.

I also found the challenge blog Moving Along with the Times Challenge. I’m entering this card too in their Punch Out challenge for the week.
