Happy Birthday

I found this card sketch at Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, Sip and Share.  And knowing me being a coffee drinker and card sketch lover must case the sketch.

I have this polka dot printed vellum and washi tapes on my stash so why not make use of them this time.

My stamp is from Simon Says Stamp while the sentiment is from Paper Smooches. I colored the goat with promarkers and die cut the same with its coordinating die. For the strings, I added an embroidery thread behind the goat, great to add texture, also some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Birthday fun

Hello there!

I had a chance to play with some quick water-coloring last night using Simon Says Stamp clear stamps and dies.

I colored the image with very light watercolor then die cut the image using the coordinating die. I also added some enamel dots to add some dimension and color.

For the sentiment, I embossed the greetings with white embossing powder.

Birthday {Cup} cake

Happy Monday!

Today, I’m featuring a great Special Editions stamp called Cupcake by the uber talented Jaine Drake.

I love the size of this cupcake, its size makes paper piecing so much easier just like what I did on this card.

I stamped the frosting in red pattern paper and a lighter paper shade for the liner. I plan to share different projects using the set so I’ll be sharing those ones too soon.

For this card, I’m using a sketch from Seize the Sketch # 20.

Speech bubbles

It’s the 5th day of the month, that means a new challenge at Sarah Hurley 365 blog. ¬†This month’s challenge theme is “Speech Bubbles”.¬†

For my take, I used the printed speech tab and the speech bubble stamp from A Few of my Favorite Things February East Village kit. The kit includes two speech bubbles but here I used the straight lined one.

I then stamped the Sentiment using the¬†Outline Alpha stamps¬†(love this set too). I just added some scribbled lines in the word “happy” for some texture and fun. The orange patch stamp is from the¬†Doodle Doll Art Girl stamps. All the papers are from Sarah’s¬†AFOMFT May Caught on Camera kit. I embossed the background for some additional texture too.

A graphic kind of design fit for a masculine card isn’t it?

Digi Monday: Jordy and Candace

Happy Monday!

This week I’m using both¬†Jordy and Candace from Chi Chi Memories, Party Time digi stamp set.

This is almost a one layer card as I directly colored the images directly in the card base and just added some pattern papers to complement Jordy¬†and Candace colors. I colored both of them with Promarkers.¬† A clean and simple (CAS) card, just my style ūüôā

Digi Monday: Jordy

It’s another Digi Monday and this week I’m using Jordy¬†as my main character for a¬†birthday card. Jordy¬†is part of Chi Chi Memories Party¬†Time digital stamp set.¬†You can find more about him and his other friends¬†in Chi Chi Memories blog.

The set is September’s¬†newest digi kit release.¬† You can find the two other projects I did using this month’s release¬†set, party group¬†invitation and Candace.

I used a kraft cardstock, and did partial embossing in the right section of the card to add texture.

I colored Jordy with promarkers and used minimal embellishment, ribbon, punched circles and zigzag cut strip.

This card will be entered to Sisterhood of Crafters, Devine Digi’s.¬†The challenge: To use a digital stamp to a¬†project.

A very special birthday

Today is a very special birthday for our little girl KC. She turns 7 today and I still cannot believe how did it happen. I have gone through some of her previous photos and there she was,  a small baby posing to the cameras whenever we ask her to act like a model. Miss this kind of days.

She got her crown and wand¬†yesterday¬†and I’m so glad to know that she loves them as much as I do.¬†Mom says she’s been wearing them¬†since¬†she got them off the box ūüôā Although I wasn’t there to¬†cut her cake, I had a great time celebrating her¬†day together with my very good friend at lunch.

It’s¬†the 20th of the month and now also¬†marks another card sketch challenge at Sketch N Scrap.¬†It’s Sketch # 8¬†from the √ľber talented Lisa.¬†The card I did here is just in time for KC’s birthday isn’t it?

I used stamps with tag and circle die from Papertrey Ink, and background musical stamp from Kaisercraft. For my card base, I used partial embossing as seen in the right and paper from Lawn Fawn.

The challenge will be up until end of August so come and check the challenge at Sketch N Scrap blog for more inspiration.
