For this card I used fabric tape to create the red stripes. I have a big bottle full of washi and different tapes and I thought I need to make use of them frequently because they deserved more love 🙂 The blue strip is a washi that I crossed over the red tape.
I used stamped images from My Favorite Things and colored them with watercolor. The Christmas tree was colored with promarkers.
The holiday season is soon to come and I need to do my holiday cards this early.
My sentiment is die cut from My Favorite Things as well.
I used a card sketch from Sketch N Scrap, Card Sketch # 84.
I’m also entering this card to Addicted to Stamps and More, Challenge # 216-Anything Goes.
And Always Playing with Paper Challenge #83, Christmas Inspiration. I used the Christmas theme, gift and red stripes in my card 🙂
And Perfectly Created Chaos, Challenge #4- Anything Goes challenge.

I love adding texture to my cards. One way of doing this is by using embossing folders or in other times adding dimensions.
With embossing folders, you can get a deep impression of a design.
I have a limited folder in my stash but they are very handy in making general textured background.
This time I’m sharing a very pretty embossing folder called Ana Griffin’s Aviary embossing folder/border set, this I got from Pretty Paper Studio.
You can see more details of how I did the three cards in the Pretty Paper Studio blog.
Card 1 with fully embossed background
Card 2 with embossed vellum background
Card 3 with partial embossing
I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

Happy Wednesday! I can’t believe it’s almost weekend and already a week after the holiday bazaar. Where did time go?
Today is another stamp of the week feature at The Stamping Shack. I used the Postbox gift digi on my card, put some glitter glue on her coat’s collar & cuff, and bling on her buttons, can’t see them clearly on the photos but it’s there 🙂
For the sentiment, I stamped Happy Holidays on to a banner tag, I did put an eyelet on the tag’s end for a little bit of interest.
I used the sketch inspiration from Retro sketch # 38, and I’m entering my card there too for this week’s challenge.
