Welcome to my stop on the Some Odd Girl Valentine’s Day Blog Hop! You should have arrived from Anna’s blog but if you just stopped by then head back to the beginning
to get started so you don’t miss any stops.
I build the colors by laying light colors first- a very light brown color, then slowly adding some yellow-orange and brown to intensify the darker areas or spots in the cat’s hair.
I kept the mid-section light to show some light areas of the cat’s color.
For my card base, I also stamped a ball of thread with very light gray ink.
Coloring is somewhat therapeutic and you can use any type of coloring medium as you wish. One thing that I love about the Some Odd Girl stamps is that they are big enough to color and very pretty stamp designs too 🙂
Be sure to check in and comment on each blog, including this one, to be the most eligible. Since we’re spreading the love so hardcore, everyone gets 14% off at the Some Odd Girl shop using code SOGLove!
But, we’ll also be choosing 2 lucky winners from those of you who comment on every blog, each receiving a $14 spending spree in our shop.
Here’s our hop list
Until then! Enjoy the rest of the hop! 🙂
A super quick stamping with only clear shimmer from Wink of Stella Glitter pen and Pretty Pink Posh sequins in today’s card.
I have this hot air balloon with hearts on it that I won sometime ago. I used this stamps in a kid’s card drive before and I think it just gives a warm-thought-feel to someone you’ll be giving this card to from across the miles.
I did two more stamping here using Hero Arts ombre inks, and this one color stamp too.
I’m entering this card to CAS on Sunday Challenge # 90, Balloons.
Also in CASology, Week 212- Fun. Riding a hot air balloon would be fun right? 🙂
And Tuesday Throwdown TT 308, Make it Sparkle.
Today is the 5th of the month and this means a new challenge is now up at the Sarah Hurley 365 blog. This month’s challenge – Buttons!
Who wouldn’t love buttons? These are the first supplies I bought when I was starting out creating cards. I may not have tons of them but I love seeing and collecting some for my fancy. I do use a couple of them in projects and still have a lot waiting to be used.
For the take on the challenge, I use the buttons from Sarah Hurley’s A Few of my Favorite Things Tropical Favourites kit. The letter stamps are from Sarah‘s Block Alpha stamp set.
I did a combination of shapes and fish tail cut banners from Sarah’s kit and Snip N Cut sheet included in the Documented365 kit. The triangles are from another Documented365 kit.
a closer look on the project, I did the layering using foam adhesives
I’m entering this card to Through The Craft Room Door, Anything Goes challenge (Sept 2-8).
and Crafting by Designs, Anything Goes challenge.
Be back soon for another project share.. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Happy Monday everyone!
Today’s my take in Sarah Hurley 365 blog post and since Valentine’s day is celebrated in February, I did a love-related card 🙂
I selected random papers from Sarah Hurley’s A Few of my Favorite Things Caught on Camera (this is one of my most loved kit plus stamps) and another from the 8×8 Paper collection. I also got another paper from the Curio collection.
I played around these papers and die cut them too for some fun shapes. The hexagon shapes are similar to a block that I usually see in sewn quilts.
I embossed the sentiment from the Sentiments stamps with white embossing powder, and I also embossed the couple from the Expedition stamp set. What I love about stamping and card-making in general is I can mix and match stamps and papers from different collections without limits.
I’m entering this card in Curtain Call Cozy Quilt challenge.
Also in Crafting by Designs, Anything Goes challenge.
and Just For Fun Challenge, Love is in the Air.
I’m entering a card today at Freshly Made Sketches challenge # 80. I used papers from K & Company, cut them in an inch strips and adhered them on the card base leaving a small gap in between strips. The stamps are from Papertrey Ink as well as the die scallop shape.
Now for the news..I was accepted as a Design Team member at the Sketch N Scrap challenge blog 🙂
Beginning 1st of May, you will see my works at the Sketch N Scrap blog along with my fellow DT card designers. The challenge runs every 1st and 15th of the month so be sure check them out too.
