Coloring with Promarker & Blog Hop

vday-hop-header

Hello!

Welcome to my stop on the Some Odd Girl Valentine’s Day Blog Hop! You should have arrived from Anna’s blog but if you just stopped by then head back to the beginning to get started so you don’t miss any stops.
For my stop I’ve created a clean and simple card using Some Odd Girl stamp that I adore. I used one of the cute cat from the Clever Kittys Clear Stamp and colored that with promarkers.
I build the colors by laying light colors first- a very light brown color, then slowly adding some yellow-orange and brown to intensify the darker areas or spots in the cat’s hair.

I kept the mid-section light to show some light areas of the cat’s color.

For my card base, I also stamped a ball of thread with very light gray ink.

Coloring is somewhat therapeutic and you can use any type of coloring medium as you wish. One thing that I love about the Some Odd Girl stamps is that they are big enough to color and very pretty stamp designs too 🙂

Be sure to check in and comment on each blog, including this one, to be the most eligible. Since we’re spreading the love so hardcore, everyone gets 14% off at the Some Odd Girl shop using code SOGLove! But, we’ll also be choosing 2 lucky winners from those of you who comment on every blog, each receiving a $14 spending spree in our shop.
Here’s our hop list

Embossing and patterned papers

Hello!

So I’m still into the Christmas vibe making some more holiday cards for friends. There’s a gathering on Thursday and I thought it would be nice to give something too while we’re celebrating an advance Christmas dinner.

For this card, I used a card sketch from Sketch N Scrap, Card sketch # 87.

I used some patterned papers and embossed the sentiment with white. The background texture is also made using an embossing folder. The cutesy images are from My Favorite Things & Pretty Pink Posh.

Coloring with distress markers

Hello!

For this card, I used some cute house stamps from Paper Smooches. I colored them with distress markers and added some water to get this watercolor wash. I then added some frosted lace stickles to mimic some snowy scene for the holidays.

I placed the houses in a blue die cut tag with red ribbon strips behind. My sentiment is from Ali Edwards, always love the fonts on this stamp set.

I also added some sequins for more holiday sparkles.

I used a card sketch from The Paper Players: PP318.

Watercolor and stamping

Hello!

I’m checking in quickly to share my card using My Favorite Things Holiday stamps. The images are stamped and colored with watercolor.

I also used a strip of washi tape in the left and a circle scallop vellum in the middle of my stamped images. I also added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for some fun 🙂

At the bottom are some stamped doilies from an older stamp set.

A very simple and clean holiday card, just like I want 🙂

I’m entering this to Christmas Card Challenges, Challenge #46-Christmas/ Winter theme.

Stripes and watercolor

Happy Saturday!

For this card I used fabric tape to create the red stripes. I have a big bottle full of washi and different tapes and I thought I need to make use of them frequently because they deserved more love 🙂 The blue strip is a washi that I crossed over the red tape.

I used stamped images from My Favorite Things and colored them with watercolor. The Christmas tree was colored with promarkers.

The holiday season is soon to come and I need to do my holiday cards this early.

My sentiment is die cut from My Favorite Things as well.

I used a card sketch from Sketch N Scrap, Card Sketch # 84.

Joy to the world

Happy Friday!

I made another holiday card using some new stamps from Avery Elle.

I love these cute woodland creatures and how cute they look singing for Christmas 🙂 I colored the images with promarkers and fussy cut them since I don’t have their coordinating dies yet.

For my papers, I have some stash from Pink Paisley and used them up this time. It looks more vintage but its nice to incorporate them to new modern stamps once in a while.  I also added some sequins to mimic the snow fall.

I  used a card sketch from Sketch Saturday: Week # 433.

I used my new stamps from My Favorite Things 🙂 I stamped the cool cat in a patterned paper and fussy cut them since I don’t have the coordinating dies yet. I then added some googly eyes  on my cat for some fun.

I also used some washi tapes on the sides and also added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for more texture.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #376 Color Challenge

Hiya!

If you’re coming from the Cupcake Inspirations blog challenge, Welcome 🙂

I’m so excited being a Surprise Sweetie  for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge # 376. I’m happy to join you all and share my take in this week’s color challenge.

First up, I colored my image from Newton’s Nook Birthday Bash stamp set with distress ink pad. I recently purchased mini distress ink as I find them great for watercoloring.

I fussy cut the colored image after filling in the colors and also added a very light purple background color in the circle die cut.

For my card base, I added some texture by embossing some circles using my circle die cuts. I also put some sequins to complement the colors I used in the stamped image.
