So glad that I had some time playing along in card challenges. I haven’t bought crafting supplies like newly released stamps and dies so I used whatever I have on hand.
For my background, I did some watercoloring using distress ink pads. I then white embossed the skyline stamp from Altenew and stamp another sentiment at the bottom from Mama Elephant. The little girl is also from the same stamp set. I colored her with prormarkers too, one of my favorite coloring medium.
I added a printed stripe vellum on the side also with few sequins.
I want to depict a scene of missing someone so I used the skyline to show a place and someone thinking about it 🙂 Cheesy right?
Anyhow, I used a card sketch from Sketch Saturday # 425.

and Markerpop Challenge #101, Embossing.
It’s only August but I’m starting to do a bit of holiday cards in preparation for the Christmas season. That’s months ahead but you know how fast time goes and before you know it, Christmas is already there and its time to send the holiday cards to your loved ones overseas.
OK so for my card today, I used the leaves die cut from Simon Says Stamp. I was going through my paper stash and found this foil like carton, shining in icy blue, would you believe it’s from a perfume bottle-Davidoff Cool Water for Woman.
Sometimes there are materials that we might just ignore but with a little imagination, we can use them in a project like this card where I used them as some form or frosty/icy leaves.
I also added a die cut ribbon using Mama Elephant dainty bow die and the oval die from Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
I used a card sketch inspiration from CAS Colours & Sketch, Sketch Challenge # 186.
I’m also entering this card to Crimbo Crackers, Challenge # 113-Blue Christmas.

I found this card sketch at Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog, Sip and Share. And knowing me being a coffee drinker and card sketch lover must case the sketch.
I have this polka dot printed vellum and washi tapes on my stash so why not make use of them this time.
My stamp is from Simon Says Stamp while the sentiment is from Paper Smooches. I colored the goat with promarkers and die cut the same with its coordinating die. For the strings, I added an embroidery thread behind the goat, great to add texture, also some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Popping in today to share my take in CAS(E) this Sketch # 184. I used to join in this challenge blog and happy to be able to join this week.
I always love clean and simple (CAS) cards and it makes me smile to do something clean yet cute in a way.
I have this “You”stamp set from Simon Says Stamp for sometime, finally use them in today’s card. I love the clean lines of the fonts and the combination of stamped heart and die cut hearts. The image is from Mama Elephant 🙂 colored him with promarkers

Its Christmas in July and I’m glad I was able to do some simple background technique on today’s project. I know I might be too late to try coloring backgrounds using distress inks but its good to try things out even if its been around for a while.
I used three different ink colors to color my background then heat embossed some stars and sentiment using silver embossing. I must say it looks so pretty in real life. The big snowflake is a die cut using Simon Says Stamp & I cut it from silver glittered paper.
I also added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
I used Sketch Saturday challenge # 420 and color inspiration from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown-July colour challenge.

Today is a clean and simple masculine card using Paper Smooches stamps and dies.
I used the Chemistry Bottles dies, die cutting the three test tubes and stamping the smokes in patterned papers using the Great Chemistry stamp set.
I draw an outline around the tubes to emphasize the shapes of the bottles to make it more visible. I also stamped some circles around using Versamark ink.
Instead of a ribbon I used the Stitched Dies to add the curves. The tag is also from Paper Smooches Tag Stitched Dies.
I’m using the sketch from Paper Smooches July 26-August 1 Designer Drafts challenge.

I still have a lot of crafty supplies that I haven’t had the chance to play with so this time is a good change to use some of them. I used Paper Smooches Fancy Frames Icons dies for my main shapes.
For the stamped flowers, I used the small icons from Paper Smooches Recipe for Success stamp set. I love using tiny stamps to create patterns such as these 🙂 For some texture, I added twine from Lawn Fawn and a strip of washi tape.
I’m entering this card in this week’s Paper Smooches challenge, Anything Goes, July 5-11 (Week 1).
My color inspiration is from Colour Me challenge # 79.

I was looking at new sketches in my favorite challenge blogs and was challenged to work this one from Sketch N Scrap.
I don’t have pattern papers with ray designs so I made the rays using different colors in watercolor. For the circle at the middle, I white embossed the doily to mimic the circle shape. I have that stamp from way back when so its nice to use it this time around.
The cow stamp is from Simon Says Stamp, Party Animal set.
This is the card sketch inspiration from Sketch N Scratch, Sketch # 53.

I had the chance to play around some watercoloring last night which I made to a card today.
I used the Sarah Hurley’s Special Editions Stamps – Cupcake by Jaine Drake. I used this stamp in several occasions which apparently is one of my favorite stamps 🙂
I used Prang watercolor for my cupcakes and distress inks for my background. I then stamped the birthday sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.
I’m entering this card to Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 314. I used the color inspiration in my cupcake and added some sequins too for added texture.
