Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #376 Color Challenge

Hiya!

If you’re coming from the Cupcake Inspirations blog challenge, Welcome 🙂

I’m so excited being a Surprise Sweetie  for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge # 376. I’m happy to join you all and share my take in this week’s color challenge.

First up, I colored my image from Newton’s Nook Birthday Bash stamp set with distress ink pad. I recently purchased mini distress ink as I find them great for watercoloring.

I fussy cut the colored image after filling in the colors and also added a very light purple background color in the circle die cut.

For my card base, I added some texture by embossing some circles using my circle die cuts. I also put some sequins to complement the colors I used in the stamped image.

Until then!

A slice of happiness

Happy Friday!

Newton’s Nook Designs is running an Inky Paws challenge # 11 , a fun and bright Color challenge and I’m definitely joining in.

I used the Sweet Summer stamp set and used the citrus slice as my main image. I colored the two slices with promarkers, fussy cut them and pop them up with dimensional.

For my card base, I stamped the slice randomly keeping the color scheme needed in the challenge. Noticed that I also stamped the small hearts in the yellow pattern paper? I used the heart from the same stamp set. Oh and I also did some background stamping of the slice in green paper, just because 🙂  The flag stamp is part of the Sweet Summer stamp set too.

DIY Notecards

Hello there!

I’m excited to share this DIY Notecards using Newton’s Nook Design Sweet Stamp that’s recently been released last week at Newton’s Nook.

I used minimal supplies on this project that I’m sure are available in your stash. I did two sets of notecards, one using washi tapes and paper piecing, and the other set using promarkers.

I have a number of small sized pattern papers in my stash and paper piecing is just a great way to use  them.

Here I added a strip of washi tape for additional color. Well apparently, I also have a selection of washi tapes that I also adore. I added different sentiment for each notecard for variety. You can also use a strip of pattern paper if you don’t have washi tape.

Here, I simply stamped the fruits and scribbled a touch of color in each card using promarkers, easy peasy. A colored pencil, a light dab of watercolor or copic marker is also fine. You can try other coloring medium in here.

I then packed each of the notecard set with twine, great gift pack for friends and family. You can a dozen or more as you like.

Here’s the other paper pieced set tied with twine. I just added a random strip of washi tape in front of the pack for some fun colors too.

I have a box that fits perfectly the two-set notecards, just a quick gift set.  I made also a tag that compliments the pack.

That’s it for today, I hope you try this easy DIY gift project.

Newton’s Nook Designs June Release – Sweet Summer

Hello everyone!

It’s Newton’s Nook Designs second day of the June release called Sweet Summer.

For my card, I stamped the fruits on pattern paper and like I did in the Chicken Scratches card I shared yesterday, I fussy cut them too. Looking at this new stamp set reminds me of a fun, bright summer with family and friends. Brings that happy thoughts.

You can color the fruits with any medium you may have, watercolor, markers, colored pencils and others.

In my case, I have a lot of pattern papers in my stash so paper piecing is a great way of using small papers to create new card project.

Newton’s Nook Designs June Release – Chicken Scratches

Wohoo! It’s Newton’s Nook Designs June Release!

I’m so glad to be joining the team this month as Guest Designer and so excited to share what I have come up with the first set of stamp for the month called  Chicken Scratches.

I have stamped the chicks on pattern paper and fussy cut them. I also stamped the grass and cut them to put in the background. I know some will not be keen on doing fussy cuts specially for small sized stamp pieces but I find it relaxing, weird I know 🙂

Part of the set is the hexagon pattern which I used in my card base. I had so much fun doing this little scene.
