I’m back! and a card

Wow! I can’t believe I haven’t posted in my blog for months, feels like forever?!

So what had happened? I was on my annual break last November and had to prepare the trip even before November. Then I have to travel for two weeks in North America. Its cold but great! I may say the best two weeks of my life 🙂

Had great places to see and amazing people to meet. It was quite incredible, the best birthday gift to self.

After the vacation, a lot of things need to be done at work so I haven’t really updated the blog. I’m however posting my holiday cards in Instagram. You can also check me out there as @heartforhandmade

So today, had the chance to do some holiday cards.

I did some embossing – dry and heat embossing plus some die cutting in the scallop strip + sequins.

Well its nice to be back.

B&W with a pop of color

I feel sort of under the weather today so what would be a better way to combat the feeling is to make a fun and happy card.

Crafting is a way for me to relax so I made this super quick card using stamps that I bought  in Michaels store way back when I visited Las Vegas.

I stamped the cutesy animals in the background, then colored 3 of the images in the set as highlights.

I used Pretty Pink Posh dies to cut my vellum tag behind the mini squares. So quick and easy. Feels much better after creating this card.

Sketch N Scrap Blog Hop – Christmas

Hello everyone!

I hope you’re having a great time visiting Sketch N Scrap’s daily inspiration in the hop.

Today is my turn in SNS Holiday Hop with Christmas being the highlight.  It’s only few weeks from now until Christmas and I have started working on my holiday cards that I will be sending away to friends and family.

Christmas is such a special celebration for us a family. As I’m working overseas, I make it a point to come home for Christmas and New Year to be with the whole family. It’s not only the time that we come together with all the kids and siblings but its the time we celebrate God’s special gift of love, the birth of Jesus.

Moving with the card project today, I die cut the Christmas tree twice from Papertrey Ink. I then stitched them together for some handmade feel to it and added some sequins too for glitz. For the sentiment, I silver embossed them to complement the shine in the tree.

As part of the celebration to the hop, I’m giving away supplies that you can also use in your next craft project. I included some patterned papers. ribbon, washi and embellishments from Hero Arts and Pink Paislee.

To win, you can leave a comment saying what is the best Christmas/ holiday tradition that you would like pass to your children or to the next generation. I’m drawing a random winner  on 12th November 2013.

Don’t forget to come back at Sketch N Scrap blog for more project fun.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tag It challenge

Quickly checking in to share my take in this month’s Papertrey Ink Tag it Challenge blog hop.

untitled

The challenge is create a quick set of five gift tags for the holidays, just perfect for the coming season isn’t it?

I used Papertrey Ink’s tag dies, alphas, star, and Christmas sock dies for this project. A combination of one, two or more of the elements. I did random ones rather than only one layout for the same set of five tags.

So without further ado, here’s what I came up with.

SNS Card sketch #12

Sketch N Scrap card sketch # 12 is now up, this time from Lisa Hidy.

The sentiments and dies I used are all from Papertrey Ink while the strip ribbons are from my stash. The fun colors of these ribbons just makes me happy 🙂 You can go over Sketch N Scrap blog for more inspiring projects from the DT.

Just to remind you that tomorrow starts the Holiday blog hop at Sketch N Scrap. Beginning tomorrow until 8th of November, you can stop by everyday for a daily dose of holiday inspirations created by the design team. There will be chances of winning during the hop so be sure to check the SNS blog.

There’s also an ongoing Design Team call at SNS. It’s a fun team to be with so check them out here too for details.

Now for my card sketch take.

Birthday card

I have a camel & zebra stamped and colored from Paper Smooches, they were supposed to be used in another project but have later changed my mind so I ended up keeping them for later.

I had some time over the weekend to whip up another card and it just such the right time to use both images. I used the bubble speech from Sarah Hurley and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I added some buttons, ribbon and patterned papers and voila! a happy birthday card.

I decided to play along with Fusion Card Challenge, FUSION #17 using their card sketch and Simon Says Stamp, Animal Antics challenge.

Fusion Challenge Sketch # 17

Hello, SNS sketch # 9

Yesterday was the start of another card challenge at the Sketch n Scrap blog.  The first month’s sketch, card sketch # 9 is from the very talented Kelly.

I had to play with Lawn Fawn’s paper pack and just love how everything works together on this card. The wood grain background stamp and Hello sentiment + flower bling are all from Hero Arts but the circle scallop stamp is from Papertrey Ink. All are just some of my favorite craft manufacturers.

Over all, the colors on this card just makes me happy 🙂

You can go over the Sketch N Scrap blog so see what the rest of the team’s take.

A very special birthday

Today is a very special birthday for our little girl KC. She turns 7 today and I still cannot believe how did it happen. I have gone through some of her previous photos and there she was,  a small baby posing to the cameras whenever we ask her to act like a model. Miss this kind of days.

She got her crown and wand yesterday and I’m so glad to know that she loves them as much as I do. Mom says she’s been wearing them since she got them off the box 🙂 Although I wasn’t there to cut her cake, I had a great time celebrating her day together with my very good friend at lunch.

It’s the 20th of the month and now also marks another card sketch challenge at Sketch N Scrap. It’s Sketch # 8 from the über talented Lisa. The card I did here is just in time for KC’s birthday isn’t it?

I used stamps with tag and circle die from Papertrey Ink, and background musical stamp from Kaisercraft. For my card base, I used partial embossing as seen in the right and paper from Lawn Fawn.

The challenge will be up until end of August so come and check the challenge at Sketch N Scrap blog for more inspiration.

Felt Wand

After finishing the felt crown project, I started working on a coordinating wand to go along with it. I use the same color scheme of felt, and the same flower die (smallest size) from Papertrey ink. For embellishments, I used sequins and ribbons. I didn’t get any wooden dowel to use in the wand but got this pink plastic knitting needle (12mm size) as alternative. Just fit for the my color scheme.

So, let me know what you think.

Thanks

My schedule over the weekend was so packed and I haven’t had a chance to  do any card project 😦  I’ll be on holiday beginning 1st June so there’s a long list of things to do before I go.

Anyhow, I’m not used to not do any card in the weekend so today, I’m sharing a card that uses a die cut sentiment using cork.

The letter die is from Papertrey Ink and the stamped butterfly is from a previous stamp set from Amy Butler.

Note that I’m also hosting a die cut challenge until end of May so there’s still time to play if you’re in the groove for die cut project.

I’m entering this card to Fusion Card Challenge # 7 using Jackie’s sketch.

And also to Paper Issues Lifestyles To “Die” For challenge.
