Sketch challenge

Today is the 15th, this means a new challenge is up at The Stamping Shack blog.  This week’s challenge is a sketch challenge from co-DT Mary Pat.

For my card today, I have used an image called Pirate Girl from The Stamping Shack store. I colored her with Promarkers, cut the image around and placed the main image as per the sketch asked for. The button and hearts are all diecut.

I find the background paper I used too over powering so I put vellum to tone down the colors a bit.

I’m entering this card to Muse Challenge # 13 using the purple, pink and some green color combinations.  The background flowers somehow reflects the flowers used in the Muse card.

CAS(E) this Sketch challenge

Can’t get enough of card sketch challenges 🙂 This week, I’m playing along at CAS(E) this Sketch #21

It’s been ages since I last joined in their challenge and I’m so glad I have the opportunity to be part of it this week.

I used Hey Dude digistamp image from The Stamping Shack. The image is on special offer for a week beginning Wednesday, 3rd April so be sure to visit the Stamping Shack blog and Facebook page  for inspiration.

I originally colored him with watercolor pencils but later on put the Promarkers for a more full vibrant colors. I plan to send this card to a family friend’s son who’s celebrating his 5th birthday soon.

Embroidered Love Birds

It’s been a while that I haven’t done any sewing for the last several weeks mainly because of the very busy schedule at work. I suddenly missed it, so yesterday when I had the chance to sit around after working on my chores, I sit and did this needlework embroidery from The Stamping Shack.

The first time I saw this image called Love Birds from the Orange Bird Studios collection, I’m already smitten. The outline image is just perfect for an embroidered project. It reminds me of the doodle stitching.

So now, I’m sharing the end product of my work yesterday.  I put the embroidered image in a frame 4×6″ frame from Ikea. By the way, Ikea Qatar has just opened about two weeks ago and that makes me so happy 🙂 I love them!

You can visit The Stamping Shack blog to see more of this project.

I’m entering this project at Moxie Fab World’s Handmade Home Decor Week: The Spring Home Decor Challenge. Though the digistamp works on paper, I used a different medium on this one.

And so, what do you think?

Thanks Mom

Today starts a new card challenge at The Stamping Shack blog. The theme this time is one that’s very dear to everyone’s heart, our Mom. The challenge, ‘A card for Mum’.

I used The Stamping Shack digi image on my main image, colored the  little girl and her cart with Promarkers.

For the background, I used stamping on textured background. I first impressed the circle designs using Papertrey Ink Circle Impression plate, then stamped it with Hero Arts wood grain background stamp.

The two type of sentiments come from my stash. Added a diecut buttons, some patterned papers, washi tapes and  I’m good to go.

I’m entering this card in Retrosketches challenge # 52 by using sketch Sketch # 43 to create my card.

Also in Simon Says stamp, Anything goes challenge.

And so for my number one fan and wonderful mother, Thanks Mom.

Jessabelles digi

For today’s card, I used the digistamp called Stitched from The Stamping Shack Jessabelles collection.

I colored her with Promarkers and used random designer paper from my stash for the banner and sentiment. Assembling the card is a quick one but I spend a little more time in the coloring part, that is what I enjoyed most. I’m loving this Promarkers, I only have the basic set but I already fell in love with them.

Now off to my card.

Red, Pink and White

Today’s card follows The Stamping Shack Red, Pink and White challenge. The challenge will run until the end of February so do visit  The Stamping Shack blog  for details and see more inspirations from the design team.

My digi image is from the Goth Kidz collection called Hippie Goth Girl.  I colored her with my new favorite coloring medium, Promarkers 🙂

For the background, I stamped a running graphic stamp called Geo-graphic stamp from Paper Smooches and a sentiment from Hero Arts. I used a zigzag stitch to adhere my banner tag though it may not be so visible in the card and a diecut background for my image.

Note, a sale on The Stamping Shack website is ongoing until Sunday 23.59GMT. All the stamps will be .99p. Visit The Stamping Shack store and have fun using the digi images on your cards too.

I’m entering this card too in ColorQ Challenge # 176.

True Love

Can you believe that the first month of 2013 has ended so quickly?

It’s the first day of the month and it means a new Challenge at The Stamping Shack blog. It’s February  and as we all know, it is a love month and this week’s theme falls perfectly  in the celebration of the coming  Valentine’s day. The challenge theme for this week is called Love Is In The Air. So play along with us and share your creations at the Stamping Shack blog.

To jump-start, I created a card using a digistamp from the Stamping Shack called True Love. You can purchase the digistamp at the Stamping Shack store.

For this landscape card, I embossed the bottom part, added a patterned paper and thin strip of washi tape. For my True Love digistamp, I colored them with watercolor pencils then cut them along the lines. I used Papertrey Ink die cut for the grey background to nestle my digi pair.  A simple I love you sentiment banner finishes this CAS card.

I’m entering this card in Clean and Simple Stamping  sketch # 224.

I also found the challenge blog Moving Along with the Times Challenge. I’m entering this card too in their Punch Out challenge for the week.

Arty girl

Today’s card image is a digistamp called Arty Girl from The Stamping Shack. It’s on special offer til next week so you can grab one to make a fun card project or any other project for an art lover.

I embossed only part of the pink card base and added minimal embellishment. The zigzag colored strips is actually a ribbon design that I used here to add color. I plan to do another project for my little girl using the same Arty girl image. Will be posting this soon when I’m done.

And here is my card..

I’m entering this card to Little Tangles All About Buttons challenge and Papercraft Star challenge (to use buttons too!).

Daisy with Flowers

This is my first card project for the year and it feels good to be back blogging. Still making my way  though to get my full mojo back after weeks of hibernation.

Today’s card is a very quick birthday card for a sweet girl. I used a digistamp Daisy with Flowers  from The Stamping Shack, colored her with watercolor pencils and here is what I got. I love how cute and innocent Daisy looks and you can see the same character in the Oscar and Daisy digistamp sets at the TSS store, so adorable.

The half flower image on the blue cardstock is handstamped flower from one of my stamp sets from Hero Arts.

I’m entering this card in Retro Sketches Challenge # 46. It’s been awhile that I haven’t been to play in card challenges so it’s a good start really to be back again to join in the fun.

Here is my take to the sketch.
