Watercolor play

Hello there!

Today I had the chance to play with watercolors. I bought Strathmore watercolor paper and Bristol paper the  other day at our local craft store so I’m trying them out. Although Bristol can hold some water-coloring, it’s not as forgiving as the actual watercolor paper. Still I love both of these papers. I will try some other types of coloring using Bristol and will share that here too when its done.

For the professor, I used the Bristol while the rest are watercolor paper.

I use the card sketch from Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge, joining in February 22-28 Designer Drafts Challenge.

I don’t have the coordinating die for this stamp set so I fussy cut all the pieces to make this scene.

Butterfly love

A quick and easy card using butterflies stamp set from Sarah. I’m  sharing the same in Sarah Hurley365 blog so come and visit, and say hello there too.

I randomly stamped the butterflies using different ink pads that coordinate. More summery colors don’t you think?

For the sentiment I heat embossed the Happy Birthday using white embossing powder.

Playing with die cuts

One thing  I love about crafting is that it keeps my mind off some not-so-good feeling like I felt today. I’m thankful that I discovered this hobby as it keep my mind of the negativity some people sometimes bring.

So, on to the good side, I created a quick birthday card for Dad. His birthday will be coming up soon and I’m getting ready to mail this card early.

It’s a chance for me to use the die I bought before from Lil’ Inker Designs. They now have the first challenge called Monthly Meet Up Challenge and I’m glad to play along.

My card sketch inspiration is from Fusion Card Challenge and color inspiration Orange, Teal & Brown.

I made 4 layer die cuts of the word Dad for extra dimension, looks like chipboard in real life. Love that.

That’s it for now and happy weekend!
