Booo!

I’m sharing today my take in this month’s challenge at Sarah Hurley365 blog. The theme: Halloween.

I only use one stamp set for this card. It’s Sarah‘s Malcolm Strange stamp set. I got the black & white pattern paper from A Few of my Favourite Things March kit. I used it specifically with that skull drawing in there 🙂

I added a shine in the pumpkins using glossy accents, same thing to the ghost eyes and kitty’s nose. I stacked them together  to show some form of balancing act while Malcolm is looking at them 🙂 I also used the spider web stamp for my card base background.

Hi Friday!

Today is the 5th of the month and this means a new challenge is now up at the Sarah Hurley 365 blog. This month’s challenge – Buttons!

Who wouldn’t love buttons? These are the first supplies I bought when I was starting out creating cards. I may not have tons of them but I love seeing and collecting some for my  fancy. I do use a couple of them in projects and still have a lot waiting to be used.

For the take on the challenge, I use the buttons from Sarah Hurley’s A Few of my Favorite Things Tropical Favourites kit. The letter stamps are from Sarah‘s Block Alpha stamp set.

I did a combination of shapes and fish tail cut banners from Sarah’s kit and Snip N Cut sheet included in the Documented365 kit.  The triangles are from another Documented365 kit.

My favorite things

This month’s challenge at Sarah Hurley 365 blog is now live with the theme: My Favorite Things.

Aside from card making, I also love sewing and it always makes me happy whenever I can incorporate sewing materials or sewing into my card project.

My favorite things are placed altogether in my card today, the blue and pink colors, felt flowers, die cutting and stamped coloring 🙂 Not a lot isn’t it?

I used a combination of paper kits from Sarah Hurley including:  Be Mine kit, April kit-Happy, January kit-Loving Life, July kit-All at Sea and February kit add-on – St Marks. The sentiment is from Sarah’s Sentiment stamp set.

Hooray!

It’s the 5th of the month and today starts the month’s challenge at Sarah Hurley 365 Challenge blog.

The challenge theme is ‘Celebration’. It’s open for interpretation, it can be a birthday celebration, anniversary, new baby, new home or just any that deserves to be celebrated.

For my project, I used Sarah Hurley‘s A Few of my Favorite Things, March kit. My take on this challenge is a birthday card.  I specially love those tickets, a great item to represent a pass to celebrate. I love those papers too on this kit. You can color the b&w graphic images or leave it as it is.

The sentiment is from Sarah’s Sentiments stamp set.

Summer Brights

Popping in to share my take in this month’s new challenge at Sarah Hurley 365 blog, with the theme Summer Brights, Challenge 93.

Summer is the time where we see bright, fun colors so I used these characters to show in my project.

I used a combination of the Documented365 kits from Sarah. I love how great different kits work together in projects like this.  I used layering on this card using embellishments from A Few of My Favorite Things, March Snip and Stick sheet. I also added a vellum sheet in the mid-section to keep a part of the base to add my elements.

I used a card sketch inspiration from Jen’s Deconstructed sketch # 153.

You are amazing

A new challenge is up at the Sarah Hurley365 blog. This month’s theme is “Anything Goes“.

I used Sarah’s Be Mine scrapbooking kit for my card. I love the colors on this kit and I have used the same in some of my other card projects. For the heart, I cut it from the Snip N Stick embellishment sheet from the same kit. For my sentiment I used Sarah’s Block Alpha stamp that I embossed in white, while the typewriter stamp is from the Be Mine stamp set.

Love that typewriter too. We used to have one back in the days and I remember ours to be well used and well loved.

Stitched

This month I’m hosting the April challenge at Sarah Hurley 365 blog, the theme that’s close to my heart – stitching.

The challenge is to apply stitching in your project, faux, hand or machine stitched, in any way you would like.

For my take, I stitched the three bokeh hearts in one of Sarah’s journaling piece to give it more emphasis. I also die cut a tag with stitching details at the background of my Doodle doll.  For her dress, I paper pieced them using Sarah’s Be Mine scrapbooking kit.

The design team did a great job in their challenge take too so be sure to head over to the challenge blog for more inspiration.

Speech bubbles

It’s the 5th day of the month, that means a new challenge at Sarah Hurley 365 blog.  This month’s challenge theme is “Speech Bubbles”.

For my take, I used the printed speech tab and the speech bubble stamp from A Few of my Favorite Things February East Village kit. The kit includes two speech bubbles but here I used the straight lined one.

I then stamped the Sentiment using the Outline Alpha stamps (love this set too). I just added some scribbled lines in the word “happy” for some texture and fun. The orange patch stamp is from the Doodle Doll Art Girl stamps. All the papers are from Sarah’s AFOMFT May Caught on Camera kit. I embossed the background for some additional texture too.

A graphic kind of design fit for a masculine card isn’t it?

Hello, circles

Huh?! I can’t believe that it’s already more than a week that I haven’t been around the  blog land.  It’s the busiest time at work and I haven’t had the chance to really sit in my craft desk.

Anyhow, I’m sharing here’s a new challenge at Sarah Hurley’s Challenge blog. This month’s theme, All Embellishments Just One Shape. The challenge is to choose just one shape and use that shape as the main focus of all your embellishments. Here I chose circles.

I think this card will be fit as a masculine card isn’t it? The Hello sentiment is from Sarah’s Documented365 For the Record journaling card. I haven’t done Project Life project yet so I’m making use of these journal cards to my card projects instead.

To give the journal card some texture, I silver embossed the globe map from the Expedition stamp set (this is one of my favorites). The circle shapes are punched from random  papers from Sarah’s A Few of my Favorite Things papers and I also added some die cut vellum. For the gray card base, I embossed it with Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug.

The pin is from the Retro Flair pin badge. Love how it adds another texture to the project. Below a closer look to those circles.

This is it for now and I’ll catch up again soon.

Thanks

It’s been a while since I posted a project but now I’m back after a short holiday break with the family.

Now for the new year, I have a number of things I plan to do on so many things including my blog so I hope you also stay tuned.

For today, I’m sharing a card project for Sarah Hurley’s January challenge with the ‘Thank you’ theme. The Sarah Hurley challenge blog has new exciting changes as well, with great prizes in store for each challenge winner.

I used Sarah’s Large Texture stamp for my background and my main image and stars from Wish Upon a Star stamp set. My thanks sentiment is from the Block Alpha stamp. All papers are also from Sarah Hurley paper kits.
